Credit where credit’s due

I discovered today, on the arrival of my credit card statement, that MBNA had failed to set up the direct debit that I had arranged with them several weeks ago. This left me with a late payment charge to pay on the account and also ended my 6-month interest-free period. It was the latter that most annoyed me as it rather defeated the point of being a credit card tart.
Expecting to have to fight against a huge faceless bureaucracy, I rang and was surprised to find helpful people who did what they could and, within five minutes, had waived the late payment fee, reinstated my interest-free period, set up my direct debit and, sadly, taken my payment.
