If I were rational about football support, I'd follow Man Utd... but I'm not rational in my football support: I support a club with a mediocre ground, players that verge from the sublime to the ridiculous, and that puts on the Pulse Cheerleaders and a luminous pink shrimp for entertainment. Where's the rational thought behind that? Nowhere to be found. But I love my team, I love Sammy, I love Roots Hall, I'm Southend 'till I die, and I'll be damned if I'm going to forgive Barry Fry for the foreseeable future.
