In our first season in the Old Division One, when the Blues had a little argument with the local press and banned the Echo from coming, the club gave me a press photographers pass and I had a few photos published in the club programme. I think the games I remember best are Southend beating Aston Villa 1-0 in the FA Cup (first round I think when they were in the old Division 3 for a season), beating Stockport 4-1 back in the 60s (only time I've seen them score 4) and Simon Royce's debut against Fulham. I really ought to go again , I might try to get to the Southend - Scunthorpe match on March 10th. Meanwhile , if you are thinking about joining the Lib Dems, drop me an email. You might enjoy getting involved. People don't believe this, but local elections can be just as exciting as any sporting event. Where do you live?
